We are pleased to welcome and introduce you to e-power a new initiative by Accusonic Controls Pvt. Ltd. e-power is an online platform for consultants, users and professionals working with electrical power distribution systems . e-power will focus on sharing of knowledge and insights on all aspects of electrical power distribution systems.
Why e-power?
The electrical power distribution systems have been undergoing change in many areas over the last two decades. The range of change is fascinating – starting from introduction of new technologies to paradigm shift in customer requirements to the rise of new industry segments like the IT to softer changes like price pressures on system providers and new expectations in service levels.
While distribution systems of the past were mostly stand alone equipments, today’s system come with built-in integration with other electric systems, more user friendly interface and some basic intelligence. New ideas, technologies and designs are being built to improve integration and intelligence of power distribution systems.
For example, today, systems are specified with features such as intelligent MCCs with remote IO modules for integration with PLC which enables centralized monitoring. Seamless connectivity of distribution systems to an Integrated Building Management System (IBMS) is critical as more and more users implement IBMS. As internet penetrates our lives further, web based monitoring of distribution equipment will not be ‘New feature’ anymore.
At Accusonic, we have always strived to ‘be the change’ for the control panel industry. However, we also had our share of struggle to cope up with some of these changes.
Today, the pace of change is very fast and we will see it only increase in the future. It is becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of developments in the industry. Collaboration with system providers for transfer of knowledge to the end users is extremely important in such a scenario to keep the facilities running and up to date.
With e-power we hope to bring the latest and best of knowledge available to us in electrical control panels for your benefit. We also actively seek participation and insights from you on your changing requirements, pain areas and experience of using power distribution systems.
What is e-power?
e-power is about both, your day to day as well as strategic aspects about control panels.
Through a series of fortnightly newsletters, we will focus on creating a credible knowledge base around specific issues faced by control panel users. The range is wide enough to include topics like how to evaluate a electrical power distribution solution provider on one end to understanding hazards that can lead to damage to the property and humans & the techniques to avoid these hazards through effective maintenance.
The white papers and best practices guides, published through this initiative, will focus on sharing practical insights from our experience and customer feedback on critical issues like increasing the life of your panel or safety and breakdown challenges etc. The surveys in the e-power will help us assess and share where the industry as a whole is moving. e-power will also feature updates on latest technology, business practices, news and views from industry experts, regulators and even users like you.
